  • A bunch of the automation machinery has been rewritten to work via LuaJIT's ffi rather than the C API.
  • Opening multiple documents at once is now supported on OS X, and in general Aegisub tries to behave like a proper document-based application.
  • This may become an option on other platforms in the future
  • libass on Windows does not perform font substitutions when a font is missing glyphs to make it more obvious that you need to pick a font for those characters.
  • fontconfig has been dropped on OS X and Windows in favor of GDI/CoreText-based solutions.
